International buffet

What is going on?! We were up around 8 o’clock to eat breakfast (which is basically stuff wrapped in pastry). Afterwards, we did some energizers to get the blood pumping.

The seminar officially started today and we got a brief introduction to Malvern Outdoor Education centre, what it used to be and what it is at the moment. After that, each country had to do a presentation about their country, their organization and a rural business from their country. All the presentations went really well, I especially enjoyed one of the videos shown in the Estonian presentation and the musicvideo the Norwegian showed (links here:

Afterwards we did some teambuilding exercises including archery, active problemsolving and quadpole! My god, standing 4 people on the top of a 10m pole is way more fun than it sounds like!

Later we had the international buffet, where everybody had to bring something to eat for everybody else to taste. We brought herring (karrysild), homemade applepie and gajol drops! Great success!

Arrival!

I finally got through to the Intertubes!

I’m gonna do a quick summary of the last 3 days here.

Me and Emma arrived around 20pm in Malvern. We had a 6 hour transit to get there with a stop in Schriphol airport. It was a really long day! We met up with Garreth from UK, Sabina and Annalena from Austria, Milica from Serbia and Joe and Enda from Ireland. We had a little chat at the airport before we went to catch the train from Birmingham to Malvern.

The place is really nice, but you really have to get used to the weather! The site located along a hill with a handful of separate houses. They have tons of different activities here and we’re to try some of them during the week.

During the evening we played some getting-to-know-each-other-games, including chairs string and throwing our namebadges on the floor! I’m still unsure of some of the names, but I’ll get around it soon!
